Carob festival

The tourist propaganda offer of the Tivat Riviera is richer for a new event called “Carob Festival”. The event takes place in mid-July. The festival is organized by the NGO “Croatian Roof Community – Dux Croatorum”, the Municipality of Tivat and the Tourist Organization of Tivat, and the whole event is dedicated to the carob plant from which flour, cakes and brandy were once produced on the coast.

The carob tree, which was planted by the local Nina Stjepčević back in 1886 before her marriage and departure to America, is protected by the Municipality of Tivat due to its ambient value, and is the central motif of the new event. The program is enriched with cultural and entertainment content, and guests enjoying the beautiful sounds of music have the opportunity to taste fried, baked and salted fish, wine, brandy and carob sweets.
