Green Tivat

Green Tivat

Tivat is the best example of how a charming but less important coastal town can develop or transform itself into a popular tourist destination in a short but healthy time. In doing so, it has preserved its traditions, the charming lifestyle of Mediterranean coastal life and customs, and has retained its typically warm hospitality and rich gastronomy. These original values and the rich historical and maritime heritage form the emotional landmark of the bay.

Sustainability is a central and important component of the Tivat brand: the aim is to continue to break new ground for sustainable development in the future, so that added value is generated in all areas of tourism without jeopardising the development of Tivat as a living space for locals, but also as an attractive tourist destination. All the characteristics of an authentic Mediterranean town are to be retained by Tivat, offering its guests unique and diverse experiences with a modern, sustainable lifestyle – based on our rich historical, natural and cultural heritage. Quality is always in focus.

Tivat is the first destination in Montenegro to start working towards the international Green Destinations award in 2020, winning the Green Destinations Bronze Award.

It is imperative to continue to think “green” and act sustainably in order to preserve the rich historical, natural and cultural heritage of the Bay of Kotor. We invite you to use the services of operators who value sustainability on your next holiday.

Green Tivat

Tivat’s richness is best reflected in its nature and beautiful landscape: it has probably the most beautiful seashore, enchanting mountain slopes and a very special nature reserve. More than 100 species of birds live here today. Yes, flamingos also feel extremely comfortable here and show themselves in their full beauty, their pink-orange feathers enchanting visitors to the Tivat salt pans. Wild flowers and special medicinal plants grow on the Vrmac hill, among them is the yarrow. The people of Tivat love them and even celebrate a festival in their honor. If you add the countless small hidden bays, islands and

Mediterranean flora and fauna here on the Adriatic Sea, it immediately becomes clear why Tivat can be called a small natural jewel.
