Cultural Heritage

Most people think that Tivat covered itself with a cloak of glamor when it became the center of luxury nautical tourism, with the construction of the magnificent Porto Montenegro resort. However, it is not so…

The proud sailing ship of the Royal Navy of Yugoslavia still captivates with its appearance after 87 years. The rich history is also evidenced by the sacral heritage as an invaluable asset of the city. Many people do not know that in Tivat the most churches are dedicated to the Virgin – as many as 11, and that one of them is the oldest church in this region, built by the Greeks in the 7th century.
