Vlade Divac and Lustica Bay presents “Practice as a Champ Summer Camp”

The Basketball Summer Camp for kids “Practice as a Champ” has been created at Lustica Bay. It will run from August 2 till August 8, 2021. Children from the “Mladost” Youth center from Bijela will attend this camp.

 

World famous basketball player Vlade Divac has become a sport ambassador for Lustica Bay, Montenegro. Company Lustica Development has started a project “Practice as a Champ” at the new basketball field at the Lustica Bay Central location. Today at this location a contract has been signed and announcement has been placed to start the first summer camp for kids that will be ran from August 2 till August 8, 2021. Children from the youth center “Mladost” from Bijela will attend this summer camp .

 

 

The contract was signed by Vlade Divac, Mohamed  AbouArab ( Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Lustica Development ) and Nebojsa Popovic (Director of the Legal Sector of Lustica Development.)

Vlade Divac has expressed his gratitude by addressing the media with the following statement.

“I’m not sure if you know but I am Lustica Bay resident for the past couple of years. Together with Lustica Bay team we came to the idea of creating a summer camp for children and I am very happy with what we have accomplished and how sport is promoted with the youth and this program. I am thrilled to have such a good partners who have great vision and social responsibility.”

According to the Milica Starcevic, Lustica Bay Project Development Manager, cooperation with Vlade Divac is a good introduction to the sports and humanitarian message sent by the company Lustica Development.

“It is a great honor for us to have the opportunity to cooperate with such a big name in the world of sports and that such an initiative is just the beginning that will announce the development of sports facilities within our complex. Basketball courts are the first step in building a sports story and continuing with tennis. water polo and various contents for all sports fans “, said Starcevic.

The camp will be free for children from Radovic and Tivat, and children from the Children’s Home “Mladost” in Bijela will join. A group of children from this center, together with educators and the director, as well as children from the local basketball club “Teodo” accompanied by a coach , attended a meeting with a sports legend with a big heart.

The signing of the contract was “certified” by the first baskets which, after the official ceremony on the newly built court, along with the celebrated basketball player, were thrown in by the representatives of the company Lustica Development, juniors “Teoda” and kids from Bijela.

“We are honored to be here today. The children are happy that Lustica Development enabled them to be among the first to participate in the basketball camp” Train as a Champion “. It is an opportunity to strengthen their psychophysical skills, but also to gain new friendships.” , said the director of the Children’s Home “Mladost” in Bijela, Vesna Zlatkovic.

This camp will gather children aged 8 to 13 and 14 to 18, ie primary and secondary school students, every year during the summer. The camp for primary school children will be conceived as part of the development of the basics of basketball, while the secondary school camp will be adapted to children who want to become professional basketball players. Professional coaches from the Euroleague will be hired in the camps, as well as other guest coaches.

Vlade Divac, former center of the Yugoslav champion national team, one of the first Europeans to open the door to players from the old continent in the NBA, and then earn his place in the “House of Fame” of American basketball, which is the greatest recognition that can be obtained in this sport, known is for his many years of humanitarian work and commitment to the development of young basketball talents, which is why he holds the title of Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations.

Lustica Bay is a place to enjoy and relax that offers many events and activities, including a large number of socially responsible events. This summer, within the project “Train as a champion”, a water polo camp will be organized, and a camp for future tennis champions is planned, as early as next summer.
